Large-Scale Website Migration & Special-Project Control
A broader migration program involving roughly 4,000 websites moved through multiple hosting environments and required a controlled inventory, special-project handling, and post-move verification.
This work predates Raptor Consulting Group and is presented as prior professional operating experience. Client identity is withheld.
The operating problem.
The broader website portfolio was large enough that migration could not be managed from memory or ad hoc messages. The environment moved from AWS Lightsail to EC2 and later to Bluehost Enterprise.
Within the program, responsibility included special projects, ecommerce sites, and two corporate websites. Those properties needed additional attention because a simple bulk move was not enough.
What the operator actually did.
The case is described in terms of implementation and operating responsibility, not generic capabilities.
Maintain a master migration document with site indicators, status, notes, and exceptions across the broader portfolio.
Take direct responsibility for ecommerce, special projects, and two corporate websites within the larger migration program.
Work with hosting technical support during migration and use support escalation when files, configuration, or move-related issues needed attention.
Compare the practical infrastructure outcome rather than relying only on advertised cloud pricing or theoretical compute costs.
What changed.
The portfolio was transitioned to Bluehost Enterprise, and the operating team saw meaningful infrastructure cost savings compared with the prior AWS setup.
The case does not publish a percentage savings figure because no audited cost table is being presented here. The exact role is also disclosed: responsibility centered on special projects, ecommerce, and corporate properties within the broader migration.
What supports the result statement.
Evidence type is disclosed so the reader can distinguish delivered work, direct observation, and client-reported outcomes.
Why this experience matters to the current system.
Raptor's current methodology takes the operating lessons from this work and formalizes them: inspect the full system, verify what is real, identify dependencies, document the change, and validate what happened after implementation.
